Jordan Fisher, widely recognized for his roles in To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You and Teen Beach Movie, is stepping into the festive spirit with his first Hallmark film, The 5-Year Christmas Party.

In an exclusive conversation with PEOPLE, the multi-talented actor and musician opened up about his heartwarming experience on set, sharing how the project allowed him to balance his career and family life seamlessly. The film, set to premiere on November 17 on Hallmark Channel, promises a delightful mix of holiday cheer and romance, showcasing Fisher’s charm alongside co-star Katie Findlay.

Jordan Fisher on Family-Friendly Hallmark Experience

Jordan Fisher said that his time filming his first Hallmark movie, The 5-Year Christmas Party, was a fairy-tale fantasy. “Everyone is lovely, and they’re happy to be there,” he said of the experience during an exclusive interview at Bloomingdale’s in New York City.

Fisher said further of his experience, “Dogs [are] running around, and kids running around.” In addition, Fisher mentioned how his ability to bring his family on set made everything all the more special.

“I could bring my family with me,” Fisher said. He remembered blocking a scene while holding his son, Riley William Fisher, then letting him go for a play session with his mother. Being a father, Fisher said that experience was just a given to his values, saying, “It was just, I think, kind of a dream scenario as a working actor, and also a father and a family man.”

A Laidback and Fun Production Operating Environment

Says Fisher, the Hallmark shoot was fun and stress-free. “None of the days were stressful,” he noted, calling the shoot “fast-paced” but not overwhelming. He also remembered being reassured by friends and colleagues who had worked on Hallmark movies of the relaxed atmosphere: ” ‘Dude, you are going to love it. It’s so laid back.’ “

“I got to be a part of that this year, and I loved it,” Fisher said exuberantly. He admitted he would not be hesitant to do another Hallmark film down the line should the opportunity present itself, saying, “I would do it again, time and time again.” Fisher found doing *The 5-Year Christmas Party*, which was filmed in Canada over three weeks, a real pleasure.
