Her daughter humorously called her out for kissing four suitors in one episode, which Joan found surprising.
“I thought I kissed two, but she corrected me—four!” she chuckled. While they laughed about it, Joan admitted that the kissing drama turned out to be more intense than she expected, especially for her kids watching from home.

One of Vassos’s closest connections has been with Chock Chapple, a delightful native of the Midwest. Joan referred to Chapple as a “good candidate,” describing him as a “Midwest nice guy with a charming accent.” Even though Chapple stepped away from the show for a while to be with his mother before her passing, Vassos was ecstatic when he made his comeback.
Vassos shared her feelings of uncertainty regarding his return. “I wasn’t sure he’d come back after everything that happened at home,” she said. “When he did, I was so happy.” His return represented a significant emotional shift for Joan, who could relate to his situation, having faced a similar experience on The Golden Bachelor.

Vassos also talked about the emotional challenges of being the Golden Bachelorette. “It’s much tougher than it seems on TV,” she explained. “You’re not just dating—you’re dealing with everyone’s past, pain, and feelings while also being open about yourself.” Despite the challenges, Vassos said she felt “happier and more satisfied” after the experience.
