Jax Taylor, the well-known reality TV star from Bravo’s The Valley, is preparing to leave an in-patient mental health facility after completing a 30-day treatment. Taylor, 45, entered the facility in late July to focus on his mental health, a decision that came amid personal struggles and his separation from his wife, Brittany Cartwright.
Taylor’s Mental Health Journey
A representative for The Valley confirmed to PEOPLE that Taylor will be returning home later this week, stating, “Jax has spent the last 30 days in treatment and will be heading back home later this week.” The representative added that Taylor is most eager to spend time with his 3-year-old son, Cruz Michael Cauchi, whom he shares with his estranged wife, Cartwright.
Taylor has been open about his mental health struggles, especially during the past few months on his podcast, When Reality Hits with Jax and Brittany.
His decision to seek in-patient treatment was made to better cope with these challenges. Upon his return, Taylor plans to continue filming for The Valley, where viewers can expect an emotionally charged second season. He is expected to share more about his experiences when he feels ready.
The Impact of Taylor’s Separation
Taylor’s time in the mental health facility follows the announcement of his separation from Cartwright earlier this year.
The couple, who tied the knot in June 2019, decided to part ways after four years of marriage. Cartwright moved into a new home in February, citing the need for space to prioritise her own mental health.
The couple’s relationship, which began in 2015, has been documented across several reality TV shows, including Vanderpump Rules and Jax & Brittany Take Kentucky.
While the separation has been challenging, both Taylor and Cartwright have expressed that it was the best decision for their family.
With Taylor’s return home, fans are eager to see how he continues to navigate this new chapter in his life.
