Isla Fisher Jokes About Single Life in New Air New Zealand Ad

Isla Fisher has lightheartedly addressed her single status in a new commercial for Air New Zealand, just months after announcing her divorce from Sacha Baron Cohen.

The 48-year-old actress, known for her roles in Confessions of a Shopaholic and Wedding Crashers, shows off her playful side in a heartwarming and humorous ad that hints at her return to the dating scene.

A Flirtatious Exchange in the Air

In the commercial, Fisher is seen sitting next to a young girl on a flight to New Zealand. The child is travelling solo to meet her father after leaving her mother in Tasmania, Australia.

As the two bond over movies, snacks, and naps, Fisher’s character becomes the girl’s new friend. When they land in New Zealand, the girl excitedly introduces Fisher to her father, suggesting they could hang out.

“How about now?” Fisher replies flirtatiously, leaving the father intrigued and the viewers amused. The moment hints at a potential connection between Fisher’s character and the father, adding a touch of charm to the commercial.

A Playful Nod to Her Real-Life Single Status

The most intriguing part of the ad comes at the end when Fisher asks the young girl, “Wait, is your dad flying solo too?” The child confirms, to which Fisher responds with a wink. This playful line serves as a subtle nod to Fisher’s own recent shift into single life after her divorce from Cohen.

In April, Fisher and Cohen, who had been married for 14 years, announced their separation. They shared a statement on social media, emphasising their commitment to privacy during the transition.

“After a long tennis match lasting over twenty years, we are finally putting our racquets down,” they said, referring to their decision to end their marriage. They also confirmed their ongoing dedication to their children and privacy during this time.

Fans React to the Ad’s Charm

Fisher’s commercial has quickly caught the attention of her fans, many of whom shared positive reactions in the comments.

One Instagram user thought the commercial was part of a new movie, while another wrote, “This is the makings of a great RomCom!” Others gushed over her ability to “sell anything,” praising her natural charisma.

The ad showcases Fisher’s ability to blend humour with a lighthearted reference to her real-life situation. As she continues to focus on her career and family, fans are enjoying her effortless charm.
