The Real Housewives of New Jersey, as fans know it, concluded on Monday, July 15. Cast members from the popular Bravo show gathered at their favorite spot, Rails Steakhouse, for the network’s alternative to their canceled reunion.
The season 14 was rather fractured, with longstanding rifts only continuing to drive costars Teresa Giudice, Melissa Gorga, Dolores Catania, Margaret Josephs, Jennifer Aydin, Danielle Cabral, Rachel Fuda, Jackie Goldschneider and Jenn Fessler further apart.
Will the Real Housewives of New Jersey see a totally new cast?
For the first time in the history of the East Coast-based reality series, The Real Housewives of New Jersey will not have a traditional reunion. The only other instance of a canceled reunion in the Real Housewives franchise occurred in season 13 of The Real Housewives of New York City.
During that season, the series was rebooted with an entirely new cast, resulting in the firing of all the season 13 members. This scenario might be in store for RHONJ’s future. During a live episode of his SiriusXM show, executive producer Andy Cohen hinted at a potential “rebrand” for the series.
However, he noted that no decisions would be made until well after the finale airs. “We’re gonna figure something out,” Cohen said, addressing a fan’s suggestion to replace most of the cast. “We are all on the same page about that.”
Here’s how the final episode of season 14 got filmed
Taking inspiration from the Vanderpump Rules season 10 finale, the RHONJ cast, who lost their screener privileges due to leaks, watched the season 14 final episode in two separate groups. Feuding in-laws Giudice and Gorga were seated apart, with Giudice joined by Aydin, Catania, and Goldschneider, and Gorga with Josephs, Fuda, Cabral, and Fessler.
According to the People magazine, the househusbands, typically a reunion staple, were absent. Last year’s reunion heavily featured drama between Joe Gorga and Luis Ruelas. Unlike the traditional ball gowns worn by Housewives for reunions, sources say the women were all dressed in daytime lunch attire.
After the episode screening, sources say the women were invited individually for confessional interviews. The RHONJ season 14 wrap-up special is scheduled to air on August 11, a week after the season 14 finale. Variety, which first reported on the taping, mentioned that it’s unclear if the special will be split into multiple parts.
