FBI Star Katherine Renee Kane Departs Show to Pursue New Creative Ventures

Deadline announced on Tuesday, August 20, that Katherine Renee Kane, who played Special Agent Tiffany Wallace on the CBS procedural drama for four seasons, is leaving the show. The 32-year-old Kane said in a statement to the site that she thought it was “time to look toward new creative endeavors.”

Kane’s exit from the show

The addition of Lisette Olivera, who is most known for playing Jess on the Disney+ series National Treasure: Edge of History, serves as a stopgap for Kane’s departure. According to Deadline, Olivera, 25, is joining the FBI as series regular Syd, an agent in the behavioral analysis unit. She will assume Tiffany’s position as Kane’s character, serving as Stuart Scola’s (John Boyd) partner.

Numerous casting changes have been made to FBI and its two sibling series, FBI: International and FBI: Most Wanted, during the past few months. Two new faces have joined the ranks of the elite FBI team, the International Fly Team, following the departure of Luke Kleintank, who portrayed Special Agent Scott Forrester on FBI: International, in May after three seasons of the show.

Donnell, 41, thanked the “entire cast and crew for welcoming him so graciously” on set after his two episodes aired. “They are a massively hardworking team from top to bottom and I feel lucky to have spent time with them ❤️,” he posted to Instagram.

Recent changes in the show

In June, PEOPLE verified that Jesse Lee Soffer, replacing Kleintank, has joined the series. Soffer, forty, expressed his excitement on Instagram, saying he was “very excited” to start.

In a joint post with co-star Carter Redwood, the Chicago P.D. alum announced on August 19 that season 4 of FBI: International was now back in production. With a caption that said, “The Fly Team’s been counting down the days to reunite,” Additionally, the video verified that the show’s fourth season will debut on October 15.

Seasons 7 and 6 of FBI and FBI: Most Wanted, starring Dylan McDermott, are likewise returning to production. On Tuesday, October 15, FBI, FBI: International, and FBI: Most Wanted will all return to CBS.
