On The Jennifer Hudson Show, Property Brothers star Drew Scott recently opened up about life as a dad of two. Drew, 46, welcomed his 5-month-old daughter, Piper, with his wife, Linda Phan, earlier this year.
Drew also shares 2-year-old Parker James with Linda, making the Scotts a family of four. “We have Parker and Piper, PMP Music Factory I call them,” he joked. Reflecting on his newborn, Drew shared, “She’s such a little sweetheart.”
Adjusting to life with a newborn again has its unique challenges. Drew humorously admitted that, despite raising Parker just two years earlier, he feels like he’s “starting over again fresh.”
He noted that Piper has her personality, so different from Parker’s. The star admitted with a laugh, “It’s like relearning how to maximise changing a diaper efficiently!”
For Drew and Linda, balancing two young children is both rewarding and demanding. Drew expressed his joy but also the learning curve in navigating fatherhood all over again.
Family Bonding and the Joys of Being an Uncle
Drew’s twin brother Jonathan Scott, who co-stars on Property Brothers, has a close bond with the Scott children. Jonathan is already stepdad to his girlfriend Zooey Deschanel’s kids, Charlie and Elsie, and is ready to spoil his niece Piper.
“Piper, no problem, the first moment we hand her over to Jonathan, smiles and everything,” Drew said with a smile. Jonathan chimed in, sharing, “I’m going to spoil that girl.”
Jonathan, known for his playful personality, explained how Parker, “so excited,” lights up whenever he arrives. Drew joked that Piper’s early confusion between the twins had faded, as she was now old enough to recognize her uncle.
Jonathan fondly shared, “I’m a total immature clown, and I’ll bring that energy to their house.”
The Scott brothers are committed to creating a fun, lively environment for their young family members. With Jonathan’s signature humour and Drew’s hands-on approach to parenting, Piper and Parker are set to grow up surrounded by family love.
The Sweet and Hilarious Side of Parenting for the Scotts
As they adjust to life with two kids, Drew and Linda are facing the ups and downs of parenting a newborn. On The Jennifer Hudson Show, Drew shared a funny story about his mom, Joanne, trying to bond with Piper.
“The first moment handing her to my mom, cries right away,” Drew laughed. His mom even suggested placing photos of her around the crib to help Piper get familiar.
Drew also gave viewers a glimpse into his bedtime routine with Piper. In a light-hearted video clip, Drew could be seen dancing in front of Piper’s crib to help her fall asleep.
Laughing about the attempt, Drew shared, “This was me trying to get her to sleep and then I’m like, ‘I guess I’m trying to get her too excited there.’”
Despite the challenges, Drew’s joy in fatherhood shines through. The Scott family’s openness and humour make it clear that both Parker and Piper are in a fun-filled, loving home.
