Devin Strader Reflects on Breakup with Jenn Tran, Cites Marcus Shoberg

In a heartfelt Instagram video, Devin Strader, known from The Bachelorette season 21, opened up about his recent breakup with Jenn Tran.

The couple, who went public with their split during the After the Final Rose special, saw their relationship unravel after Strader’s decision to end things. 

While there were multiple factors involved, Strader revealed that Marcus Shoberg played a significant role in reaffirming his decision to walk away.

Reflecting on watching the show’s episodes, Devin admitted that seeing Jenn’s connection with Marcus made him realise he wasn’t her first choice. 

“Watching myself play second to someone else was tough, but it helped me come to terms with the breakup,” he said.

Marcus Shoberg’s Influence on the Breakup

Strader emphasised that seeing Jenn’s interactions with Marcus during their time on The Bachelorette cemented his decision to end the relationship.

Although Devin didn’t blame Jenn for her feelings, he expressed disappointment in not being made aware of her connection with Marcus while they were still together.

“Relationships are about growing together, and I don’t fault her for how she felt. But learning about it after the fact was hard,” he shared.

Devin’s Emotional Journey Post-Breakup

Throughout his video, Devin also discussed his emotional journey after their split. 

He acknowledged that he became more distant in the final weeks of their engagement, but it wasn’t out of malice. 

Instead, he explained that he was trying to process the difficult emotions he was experiencing. Despite his efforts, he felt his decision to break up was the right one.

“I wasn’t trying to play the victim,” Devin stated. “I just needed to share my side and my truth.”
