Dave Coulier Opens Up About Cancer Diagnosis

Full House alum Dave Coulier revealed on the Today show that he has been diagnosed with stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma. The 65-year-old comedian said he felt like “I got punched in the stomach because it never happens to you.”.

You always hear about it happening to somebody else. It would prove the first sign of an illness in him, a lump in his groin that prompted a few tense days waiting for further test results.

The long waiting period was somewhat comforted by his family, though. There, he shared with his wife, Melissa, “I’m all right with whatever the news [is] going to be no matter how devastating. … I’ve had an incredible life.”.

But I have had the best people in my life. This journey has been so incredible that, if this is the end of the journey, I’m good. Thankfully, no major organs, bones, or blood had been invaded by the horrid cancerous cells, which was a small reason for hope in the unknown.

Treatment Journey: “Intense” Chemotherapy

The treatment was pretty brutal with multiples aggressive chemotherapy treatments; he described the sessions as something that “scared the daylights” out of him. He described his process as a “roller coaster,” where sometimes he feels “unbelievable” and on other days, “exhausted,” admitting, “And then there’s other days where … I’m just going to lay down and let this be what it’s going to be.” However, Coulier never loses sight of his future prognosis.

He has scheduled six cycles of chemotherapy. The chemo is to be given after every three weeks so he’ll probably finish them at the end of February 2025.

With that scary diagnosis somewhat weighing on his head, Coulier spoke to his fans and was telling them that the cancer does indeed have a great rate of being curable, which keeps him believing that he will be fully recovering. He moves on through the complete treatment and adores the love and care from his wife, Melissa, whom he married in 2014.
