From once being a child superstar, America’s favourite beloved child actor Amanda Bynes is still sharing her updates on keeping fit and feeling healthy through her ongoing self-improving journey. Indeed, Bynes recently appeared on an Instagram post sharing her updated and impressive progress wherein she recently lost 6 pounds through her commitment towards fitness.

This is all after successfully battling through tough personal conditions as has been with respect to serious mental health struggles, chemical dependency, and body dysmorphia cases. Here’s a closer view of Bynes’ changes and her commitment to taking care of her physical health and mental well-being.

Taking Control: Amanda Bynes on Mental Health and Fitness

Here, Amanda Bynes claimed that she has been depressed and that is why, lately, she has had some weight gain. In March, she posted, “I’ve gained over 20 lbs. in the past few months from being depressed.” 

In a bid to win, Bynes has been engaging in “opposite action” to combat low moods, saying, “I’m doing a lot better now and have learned to do opposite action when I don’t feel like working out or eating clean.” The latest Instagram story revealed a milestone—14,895 steps walked were covered by 6.60 miles and burned as many as 481 calories, all part of a goal to regain control of her health.

Reflections on the Past: Amanda Bynes’ Struggles with Body Image and Addiction

Amanda Bynes faced body image problems when she was a relatively new artist. The condition went deep inside her soul. 

Discussing her experience in She’s the Man, she told Paper magazine, “When the movie came out and I saw it, I went into a deep depression for 4-6 months because I didn’t like how I looked when I was a boy.” Her insecurities led her to experiment with drugs, including ecstasy and cocaine, and then an Adderall addiction, which made her take a step back from acting in 2012. 

After the hard time she had that included a psychiatric stay and legal issues, Bynes is sober and on a new, healthier path.
