Martin Lawrence has recently given a shocking comment on Will Smith. He blamed Will Smith for the delays to making Bad Boys for Life as he had a desire to make a perfect script. The third movie of the action-comedy franchise which starred Lawrence and Smith as Miami detectives Marcus Burnett and Mike Lowery was released in January, while the flick has been coming after two decades of Bad Boys II was released in 2003.
While talking about this during a recent Q&A session with #CRWN on Tidal, Lawrence simply pointed the finger at Will Smith and said that the movie has been stretching this long because of that guy who wouldn’t finalise anything until it’s perfect according to him. Will Smith, who co-produced the movie, however, shared that the reason why the movie took this much time because he takes the representation of African-Americans in cinema very seriously.

Is Will Smith the reason for the delay?
“These first two (Bad Boys) movies – at the time we did the first one ’95 – it was two black guys in a movie. That was a big deal back then. And it was like just what Bad Boys meant to the community and then we came back with Bad Boys 2 and it worked,” he told.
However, he accepted the responsibility of the slow progress for the movie Bad Boys for Life and also said to the fans that he was extra protective over the third instalment of the Bad Boys franchise.
“(The story had to be) right, that it had something to say, that it was funny and that it deserved to be made again… The Bad Boys had to come correct,” he further expressed. “I just didn’t want to wreck the franchise, you know. I had felt like I had other sequels in my career that I didn’t feel like, I didn’t land it.”
