A Houston man, Kendrick Rayvon Fisher, 29, faces capital murder charges after police discovered his sister and her two-year-old daughter fatally stabbed in their apartment.
Authorities identified the victims as 28-year-old Genene Fisher and her daughter, Karlie, following a Friday incident at their Richmond Avenue home.
Houston Man Found Asleep Near Stabbed Victims Charged with Capital Murder
Police arrived at the scene early Friday morning after a concerned caller reported the pair were being held hostage. Upon entering the apartment, officers found Fisher asleep on the couch, his clothing stained with blood. A search of the premises revealed the bodies of Genene and Karlie, both bearing multiple stab wounds.
Fisher, who showed signs of a physical altercation, was arrested at the scene and denied bond.
Police Describe a Tragic and Shocking Scene
Officers from the Houston Police Department were, therefore, ill at ease in answering the nature of the discovery, as defined by Sergeant M. Arrington, “officers did not know this animocity thrice dispersed between Fisher and his sister.”.
“The neighbors explained it all: unbelievable.” Emmanuel Thomas, a family friend, said, “I really can’t understand how you could hurt your own sister or a child.” For me, this was totally out of the blue and, really, I never saw it coming.”
Previously he had seven-year imprisonment for armed robbery. There was no sign of any recent quarrels or instability, which stimulated this kind of behavior. His release in 2023 was absolutely normal as far as any recent spats were concerned.
Community Reacts as Investigation Continues
There was shock in the neighborhood both in the family and from the neighbors, who termed the family quiet and unproblematic, leaving many wondering what could cause somebody to do that.
The officer confirmed the arrest of Fisher, as his prison term for contraband had just finished. Investigators are still piecing together events leading up to the fatal stabbings.
“This is heartbreaking,” Thomas added. “We pray for the family left behind. No one deserves this.”
Fisher remains in Harris County Jail as the case remains under investigation.
