Most importantly, that victory came within a few months of his WWE exit. Corbin faced many stiff challenges, but perhaps the most notable was his final win over Diogo Rodrigues Ponciano Freitas.
An event like this would rank high in terms of post-WWE milestones, exemplifying his continued effort in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, a sport for which he has been training for years.
“I came back and completely redeemed myself,” revealed Corbin on X (formerly Twitter), expressing that he was quite happy to achieve such a feat. This victory is the hallmark of Corbin’s commitment to his martial arts training and adaptability to new challenges following his wrestling career.
Corbin’s Training at Rudos BJJ and His Future Plans
Corbin’s association with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is not new. He trains at Rudos BJJ in Florida, a school famously known for producing elite-level fighters. It is here that other notable wrestlers were done, such as Matt Riddle and Shayna Baszler.
Corbin’s association with athletes like that has done him no disservice at tournaments such as the IBJJF Tampa Open. Even after departing from WWE, Corbin’s passion for combat sports has remained strong.
The Undefeated Gold
His victory in the gold medal competition shows that he is more than just a former WWE Superstar; he is a formidable competitor in Jiu-Jitsu too. Moving forward, Corbin’s fans will be keenly watching to see how he juggles his Jiu-Jitsu pursuits with any future wrestling opportunities.

Corbin Responds to Kurt Angle’s Comments on WWE Departure
Apart from his Jiu-Jitsu achievements, Corbin has recently responded to words said by WWE Hall of Famer about his dismissal from WWE. Angle stated that he was disappointed that Corbin’s contract wasn’t renewed because he did not believe that Corbin was given his proper due in his last match in WrestleMania 35.
In response, Corbin said what he believed about X and thanked Angle for his help in his career. “I will forever appreciate it and wish I could have done more to make it worth it for him,” Corbin wrote. This comment shows that Corbin had a lot of respect for Angle and he did not deny the Hall of Famers impact in WWE.
Although Corbin is no longer under WWE contract, his exit paved the way to his BJJ journey as well as the future endeavors in combat sport.
