During an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Bailey confirmed his return to the show, teasing fans with what’s to come in Benedict’s journey, as the Regency-era drama continues to captivate viewers with its charming and evolving cast.
Jonathan Bailey confirms returning for season four as Anthony Bridgerton.
In a recent interview on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Jonathan Bailey confirmed that he would be reprising his role as Viscount Anthony Bridgerton in Bridgerton season 4. Bailey, who played the central role in season 2, will return to the popular Shonda Rhimes show to continue his portrayal of Benedict’s older brother. During the interview, Bailey revealed, “I’ll be reuniting with the family next week,” confirming his involvement with the upcoming season.
Bailey humorously shot back at the remark from host Seth Meyers, though when he joked that he had to play the same character repeatedly saying, “It changes every year, you know, every two years,” a nod to the way the show itself morphs with a new season every two years or so. He then added, “What an amazing thing to be a part of,” an indication of his eagerness to get back on set. The quotes from the actor denote how the show *Bridgerton* develops with season-by-season new plot and characters yet retains the backbone of the family.
New Faces in Season 4: Luke Thompson and Yerin Ha
The storyline in Season 4 is expected to take it towards Benedict Bridgerton’s romance which would bring new faces to the main cast. For the episode, Benedict’s romance with Sophie Baek, who was inspired by Julia Quinn’s book An Offer from a Gentleman, will be featured.
Luke Thompson, who will play Benedict, will share screen space with Yerin Ha playing the role of Sophie. Jonathan Bailey said that he was looking forward to the new season as “there’s going to be loads of space for new people to come in and Luke and Yerin are going to be great, so I’ll always pop back and say hello”.
It was Bailey’s lighthearted comment about making periodic appearances to prop up his co-stars that reveals his eagerness for the continuous expansion of the Bridgerton universe.
The new characters in season 4 bring something new to the pot that brews the complex relationships of the Bridgerton family, and the on-screen brother in Bailey is looking forward to the direction his character will take the siblings.
