Lucas Bravo’s future on Emily in Paris remains uncertain following his candid remarks about his character, Gabriel, and the direction the show has taken. In an exclusive interview with Us Weekly, a source reveals that the actor’s comments have caused a stir, leaving tensions high among the cast and crew.

Bravo, who has played the charming chef since the series premiered in 2020, expressed his frustration with Gabriel’s evolving storyline, hinting at the possibility of stepping away from the series after Season 4. With the show’s renewal for a fifth season, fans are left wondering whether Gabriel’s character will return to his former self or if Bravo will part ways with the show.

Lucas Bravo Becoming Uncomfortable with Gabriel’s Character Progression

Lucas Bravo expressed his growing discomfort at the direction of his character in seasons later of Emily in Paris. He revealed that toward the end of the seasons, there was definitely a great chasm between what he felt as Gabriel and what actually was.

“The ‘sexy chef’ was very much part of me in season 1 and we grew apart season after season because of the choices he makes and because of the direction they make him take,” Bravo explained to IndieWire.

He pointed out that the development of the character, specifically Gabriel’s growing ignorance and victimization, was no longer fun for him to act. “It kind of became not fun for me to shoot,” he added, further stating that he felt Gabriel had “slowly turned into guacamole” because there was no depth and development.

Bravo tried to bring more nuances in the persona of Gabriel but felt channeled by the script. “I tried for seasons to bring nuances but we don’t have much liberty on set. We cannot change a word or an emotion,” Bravo revealed. He pointed out how the creative control remained firmly in the hands of the show’s producers and writers, leaving him feeling limited in his role. With such growing discontent, he looked to his future with the show, stating that he was unsure if he’d be coming back for season 5.

The Future of Lucas Bravo on Emily in Paris

With such candid remarks, the future of Lucas Bravo on *Emily in Paris* is unsure. A source close to the show mentioned, while the show will indeed continue, Bravo’s departure might be a possibility. “The show will go on with or without Lucas,” said the insider, further explaining that the show is more about Emily’s journey, and not necessarily Gabriel’s storyline.

Bravo himself hinted that his decision to come back depends on whether or not the character of Gabriel will be revitalized in future seasons. “It makes me question if I want to be part of season 5,” he said, confessing that had Gabriel’s story remained unsolved, he would have debated his own presence.
