Cody Rhodes may have hinted at a heel turn during his WWE SmackDown promo, according to Vince Russo. His use of complex language and his persona have fueled speculation.

Cody Rhodes, WWE’s top babyface on SmackDown, could be on the verge of a major character shift.

After his monumental victory over Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40, Rhodes has consistently portrayed a fan-favourite image. However, recent developments suggest that a heel turn may be in the works.

During a promo on this week’s episode of SmackDown, Rhodes spoke about the importance of the Crown Jewel Championship, a title he’s vying for against Gunther. While discussing his intentions, Rhodes mentioned winning the title for his daughter. However, what stood out was his use of the word “pantheon,” which WWE veteran Vince Russo believes could be a subtle clue towards a heel turn.

Vince Russo’s Analysis of Rhodes’ Language Choice

On a recent episode of BroDown on WWE’s Backstage Pass, Vince Russo noted that Cody’s use of the word “pantheon” was unusual for a babyface character.

The term refers to a group of notable and respected figures, but as Russo pointed out, most fans might not be familiar with it.

Russo argued that baby faces usually avoid complex language to stay relatable to their audience.

He pointed out that legendary babyfaces like John Cena and Stone Cold Steve Austin never used words that could alienate fans.

According to Russo, this could indicate that Rhodes is starting to develop a superiority complex, which could be the first step towards a heel turn.

Cody Rhodes’ Appearance and Nickname Fuel Speculation

In addition to his choice of words, Cody’s appearance and nickname, “The American Nightmare,” have led to further speculation.

Russo mentioned that Cody’s superhero-like attire and confident demeanour might be at odds with his babyface persona.

This contrast, along with his promo style, has led many to believe that a heel turn could be imminent.

If these signs are indeed intentional, fans could witness a significant character shift in Cody Rhodes soon, marking a new chapter in his WWE career.
