Serena Williams shared an adorable video of herself dancing with her dog, named Christopher Chip Rafael Nadal, in honor of the Spanish tennis icon.

In a heartwarming display of affection, Serena Williams recently took to TikTok to share a delightful video of herself dancing with her Yorkshire Terrier, named Christopher Chip Rafael Nadal. 

The video features the duo grooving to the Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ popular song “Maps.” Williams affectionately noted in the caption that her pet loves the song, showcasing her playful bond with the dog.

Christopher Chip, who has his own Instagram account with over 13,000 followers, has been a part of Williams’ life since at least 2016, indicating a long-standing companionship.

The account features an array of charming photos and heartwarming moments shared between Williams and her pet, highlighting their close relationship.

Serena’s Admiration for Nadal

During a press conference at Wimbledon in 2022, Serena Williams shared why she named her dog after Rafael Nadal, whom she has always admired. After Williams announced her retirement, Nadal expressed his feelings about her departure, saying, “She is one of the greatest sportspeople of all time. I feel lucky to have shared the tour with her. While it’s sad to see her go, we can’t thank her enough for everything she’s done for our sport.”

He continued, “She’s an amazing inspiration for many around the world, and she deserves to choose what’s best for her at this stage in her life. I wish her all the best.”

Williams praised Nadal’s achievements, especially his 2022 victories, which included his 14th French Open title and 22nd Grand Slam overall. Both athletes have always celebrated each other’s successes, showing a deep respect and friendship that goes beyond competition.
