In a surprising move, Riot Games announced the removal of Bleed Esports from the VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) Pacific League. This announcement came shortly after the conclusion of the VCT 2024 regular season. According to Riot, the Singaporean-based team was terminated due to a failure to comply with critical reporting requirements and other obligations under the Team Participation Agreement (TPA).
Riot’s decision means Boom Esports, the runner-up of VCT Ascension Pacific 2024, will now be promoted to fill the vacated slot in the upcoming VCT Pacific 2025 League. Here’s a breakdown of the situation and its impact on the next season.
Why Bleed Esports Was Removed
Bleed Esports was the first team from VCT Ascension to qualify for the VCT Pacific League in 2023.
Despite their impressive performance, winning the grand finals in the Malaysia and Singapore regions, they failed to meet the obligations set by Riot Games.
According to a statement from Riot, Bleed Esports could not address “critical reporting requirements” over the last year, leading to their termination from the league.
Bleed Esports acknowledged this issue, stating that despite continuous communication with Riot, they could not resolve these concerns and thus decided to end their participation.
Boom Esports Takes Over for VCT Pacific 2025
Boom Esports, the runners-up of VCT Ascension Pacific 2024, will now take Bleed’s place in the VCT Pacific 2025 League.
Riot Games emphasised their commitment to merit-based qualification, promoting Boom Esports after a strong performance in the Ascension Pacific finals.
This addition completes the 12-team roster for the upcoming VCT 2025 League, creating excitement for next year’s competition.
Bleed Recent Performance
Bleed Esports, a Singapore-based team founded in 2019 by Mervyn Goh, achieved their highest ranking at #40 in July 2024 and averaged #51 over the past year.
Their peak viewership hit 47,132 during the Snapdragon Pro Series Season 3 SEA.
However, Bleed Esports was removed from the VCT Pacific by Riot Games for failing to meet the Team Participation Agreement’s reporting requirements and other obligations.
