Kailyn Lowry, star of Teen Mom 2, recently shared her thoughts on the importance of giving her older children individual time. As a mother of seven, she recognizes the unique needs of each child and emphasizes that spending quality one-on-one moments is crucial for nurturing their relationships. In her latest comments, Lowry reflects on how these individual interactions not only strengthen family bonds but also contribute to her children’s emotional well-being.
The Challenge of Balancing Time
As a mother of seven, the 32-year-old podcaster talked candidly with PEOPLE about how she divides her time. In discussing her podcast tour, Lowry made it clear that her family is her “number one priority.”
“Everyone around me knows I make sure that even though I did have three babies in one year, that my older kids never feel neglected, or a need for anything or want for anything,” she says.
With fiancé Elijah Scott, Lowry has twin infants, Verse and Valley, and a toddler son, Rio. Along with her 10-year-old son Lincoln and his ex-Javi Marroquin, Creed, 4, and Lux, 7, with ex-Chris Lopez, and Isaac, 14, with ex-Jo Rivera, she is also a mother.
Individual Time: A Key to Stronger Bonds
Kailyn believes that spending one-on-one time with each child fosters deeper connections and understanding. She often shares moments from her life that highlight the unique personalities and interests of her children, reinforcing her belief that these individualized experiences are invaluable for their growth and development.
“Babies change schedules, as much as we love them,” she continues. We can’t go to some places after 7:00 p.m., and we have to do feedings and naps. I therefore make sure that my equal spouse and I agree that I must make time for my older children.” Lowry is pleased with the way she and her fiancé are managing their time between their busy personal and professional lives.
“We really do a good job at making sure that we’re balancing family time with individual time because I do think that gets lost when busy schedules are taking over and people work and there are babies involved,” she continues.
Lowry’s approach to parenting is also shaped by her experiences with co-parenting. By collaborating with her ex-partners, she strives to create a supportive environment that allows for quality time with each child. This cooperative effort enhances the children’s sense of security and belonging within their family structure.

As Kailyn continues to navigate motherhood, she remains focused on maintaining a healthy balance between her personal life and family responsibilities. “I want my teenagers and my tweens to know they matter. Isaac, Lincoln, Lux, Creed, they need to know that they’re important, too, and that our house and our dynamic wouldn’t be the same without them or their milestones. I want them to feel all of their needs are being met, so that’s just something that we’ve always put at the forefront of everything.” she concludes.
