Warner Bros. Pictures Animation and Locksmith Animation have announced a magical new project set to captivate audiences worldwide. “Bad Fairies,” a subversive musical comedy, is currently in production and slated for a July 23, 2027, theatrical release.
The film, directed by Megan Nicole Dong (creator and director of Netflix’s acclaimed animated musical series “Centaurworld”), promises a fresh take on the fairy tale genre. Set in contemporary London, “Bad Fairies” follows a rebellious group of fairies who challenge the status quo.
A Dream Team of Musical Talent
To bring this enchanting story to life, Warner Bros. has assembled a powerhouse creative team. Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, the dynamic duo behind the Tony-winning musical “Six” and the upcoming West End sensation “Why Am I So Single?”, have been tapped to write the film’s original songs. Their infectious energy and ability to craft unforgettable melodies will undoubtedly add a unique and contemporary flair to the “Bad Fairies” soundtrack.
Grammy-nominated musician Isabella Summers, renowned for her work with Florence and the Machine, will lend her talents to the project as composer and producer. Summers’ ethereal and evocative sound will create a mesmerizing musical landscape for the film.
A World of Wonder Awaits
“Warner Bros. Pictures Animation and Locksmith Animation are thrilled to welcome this extraordinary team of musical talents to the ‘Bad Fairies’ family,” said Bill Damaschke, President of Warner Bros. Pictures Animation, and Mary Coleman, CCO of Locksmith Animation, in a joint statement. “Their combined creativity will undoubtedly bring vibrant and unforgettable dimension to the story, and we cannot wait to share it with audiences around the world in 2027.”
